About the Role
This position serves as a strategic partner to market leaders, dedicated to fostering a genuine safety culture and driving a positive employee experience. The role exists to bridge the gap between business objectives and human capital strategy, ensuring that HR practices not only comply with regulations but actively contribute to market success.
You will act as a present, active thought partner, identifying gaps in the associate experience and leading action planning to improve engagement, retention, and earnings per share (EPS). A significant portion of your day involves collaborating with Area leaders, HR stakeholders, and functional teams to execute communication campaigns, manage complex employee relations investigations, and support talent development initiatives. Whether guiding leaders through labor negotiations, managing leave administration, or coaching on performance management, you will be the consistent voice for policy interpretation and cultural alignment across the market.
The work environment is primarily office-based within a US Foods facility, but the role demands significant interaction across multiple locations, including distribution centers and driver domicile yards. You will travel occasionally to support territory managers and engage directly with associates at all levels to ensure consistent execution of plays and routines.

Requirements

Nice to Have
Prior employee relations experience and experience working in a collective bargaining environment. Prior experience with affirmative action requirements at a Federal government contractor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to make timely and informed decisions and understand when to escalate issues. SHRM certification.
