This position serves as a strategic partner to market leaders, dedicated to fostering a genuine safety culture and driving a positive employee experience. The role exists to bridge the gap between business objectives and human capital strategy, ensuring that HR practices not only comply with regulations but actively contribute to market success, retention, and engagement.
In this capacity, you will act as a present, active thought partner, identifying gaps in the associate experience and leading action planning to resolve them. You will champion the consistent execution of "LEAD Plays" to create an environment where associates feel valued and supported. The role involves navigating complex employee relations scenarios, from labor negotiations and disciplinary actions to interactive processes for ADA and Workers' Compensation, ensuring fairness and compliance at every step.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of strategic planning and hands-on execution. You will collaborate with leaders across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and HR to align departmental goals with company-wide priorities. A significant portion of your time will be spent advising supervisors on policy interpretation, coaching on performance management, and leading investigations in partnership with Compliance and Legal teams.
You will also drive change campaigns to accelerate the adoption of new HR initiatives, helping leaders build the necessary beliefs and experiences to shift culture and improve results. While much of the work takes place in the US Foods office, the role requires significant interaction with associates across distribution centers, driver domicile yards, and occasional customer visits to stay connected with the frontline reality.
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to make timely decisions, and excellent verbal and written communication capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in professional HR roles, specifically within collective bargaining environments or federal government contracting contexts.
