About the Role
This position serves as a strategic partner to market leaders, dedicated to fostering a genuine safety culture and driving a positive employee experience. The role exists to ensure that HR practices align with business objectives, ultimately driving market success through engagement, retention, and operational excellence. You will act as a present, active thought partner, identifying gaps in the associate experience and leading initiatives that prioritize employee well-being and leadership accountability.
Day in the Life
Your work will span a dynamic environment, requiring significant interaction with associates across multiple locations, including distribution centers, driver domicile yards, and office settings. You will collaborate with front-line leaders, managers, and directors across Finance, Supply Chain, and Sales to execute strategic HR campaigns and drive employee adoption of new initiatives.
Key aspects of your daily impact include:
- Culture & Engagement: Championing a positive work environment by utilizing data to identify opportunities for improvement and supporting labor negotiations when necessary.
- Employee Relations: Leading investigations in partnership with Compliance, Legal, and HR stakeholders, while providing guidance on the interactive process for ADA compliance and Workers Compensation.
- Talent & Performance: Coaching Area leaders on performance management, talent assessment, and succession planning, while supporting recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
- Compliance & Policy: Advising supervisors on consistent policy interpretation, maintaining accurate personnel documentation, and ensuring adherence to employment laws and US Foods procedures.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this role will be expected to travel 10-15% of the time to various market locations. The position requires a valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record in good standing, reflecting the onsite nature of the role and the need to interact with associates across different facilities.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus of up to 10% of base salary. Requirements
- verifiedMinimum 6 years HR experience with at least 4 in professional role
- verifiedBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- verifiedValid driver's license with good motor vehicle record
- verifiedWorking knowledge of MS Office software
- verifiedFamiliarity with employment legislation (ADA, FMLA, EEOC, FLSA, Title VII)
- verifiedSHRM certification desirable
Nice to Have
Prior employee relations experience and experience working in a collective bargaining environment. Prior experience with affirmative action requirements at a Federal government contractor. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to make timely and informed decisions and understand when to escalate issues. SHRM certification.
