The House Supervisor RN at Providence Portland Medical Center serves as a vital operational leader during night shifts, weekends, and weekdays on a per-diem basis. This role coordinates the general operation of the Nursing Department, providing administrative coverage when senior leadership is not present. Acting as a mentor and role model, the House Supervisor supports nursing staff in developing problem-solving, assertiveness, and leadership skills. The position requires close collaboration with the Nurse Manager and Staffing department to manage staffing assignments and navigate crisis situations. Additionally, the House Supervisor initiates disaster preparedness plans in coordination with the Emergency Preparedness Manager, ensuring the department remains resilient in urgent scenarios.
