Hotel Assistant General Manager

About the Role

As the Assistant General Manager, you will be the operational backbone of the hotel, working in close partnership with the General Manager to ensure the property meets or exceeds all planned objectives. Your primary mission is to deliver a friendly atmosphere and superior guest service that creates unique, memorable experiences for every visitor, distinguishing our property from competitors.

In this role, you will serve as the face of the hotel, personally engaging with guests during peak check-in and check-out times to demonstrate a genuine commitment to hospitality. You will oversee all areas of the hotel, managing everything from guest services and financial operations to safety compliance and human resources. When the General Manager is not on-site, you will step in as the Manager on Duty (MOD), ensuring 24/7 responsiveness to any guest or employee emergencies.

Day in the Life

Your day will be a dynamic blend of strategic oversight and hands-on leadership. You will coordinate the delivery of services across all departments, ensuring seamless operations from the front desk to the housekeeping and maintenance teams. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to financial management, including budgeting, revenue maximization, and credit control, as well as driving occupancy and average daily rates through effective suggestive selling.

You will also focus heavily on team development, conducting morning meetings, training staff, and fostering a culture of empowerment where employees are encouraged to resolve guest issues swiftly and effectively. Beyond internal operations, you will maintain the physical standards of the property through daily inspections and community engagement, ensuring the hotel remains a welcoming and safe environment for all.

Hiring Process

Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record in supervisory roles within the hospitality industry. The selection process will prioritize individuals with specific experience in the Hilton PEP Operating System and the ability to cover weekend shifts as MOD. We are looking for leaders who possess strong management skills, excellent public relations abilities, and a clear understanding of hotel interdepartmental relationships.
