St. Josephs Health presents an exciting opportunity for a Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician to serve as the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program. This senior leadership position offers a dynamic blend of clinical care and administrative oversight, designed for a physician who wishes to shape the strategic direction, growth, efficiency, and quality of the hospitalist program.
As the Medical Director, you will work closely with the hospitalist team, nursing, and non-clinical staff to optimize care for all admitted patients. The role is structured as a 1.0 FTE position, averaging roughly 40-50 hours per week, with approximately 85% administrative responsibilities and 15% dedicated to direct patient care. You will oversee a team of approximately 50 clinicians across the St. Josephs Hospitalist Program and the Rome Memorial Hospitalist program, leading quality initiatives, mentoring providers, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration with the Emergency Department and other clinical services.
St. Josephs Health is a community-based hospital featuring a 400+ bed facility with 24/7 intensivist coverage operating under a closed ICU model.
