This position serves as a key leadership role within District 05 (West Carroll) under the Maintenance Section. Reporting directly to the Parish Highway Maintenance Superintendent, the incumbent supervises Maintenance Equipment Operators (MEOs) responsible for the upkeep of highways and bridges. The role is critical for ensuring that daily maintenance activities meet established Highway Standards and for managing resources during routine operations and emergency situations.
The day-to-day responsibilities involve guiding and instructing assigned personnel, preparing daily labor and equipment reports, and ordering necessary materials. The role requires active participation in routine administration meetings and training sessions. As a leader in the field, the incumbent must be prepared to work emergencies at night and may be called upon to support disaster relief activities. Success in this position requires the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally with supervisors and subordinates.
