ICEF Public Schools is a nonprofit charter school network dedicated to educating and empowering courageous leaders who embrace their full potential for college, career, and life. Our work is rooted in five mission-aligned pillars: educating and empowering courageous leaders, providing a diverse community that honors each student's uniqueness, fostering academic excellence, nurturing healthy minds, and inspiring critical thinkers.
We believe that teachers and school leaders are the most significant factor in whether a child is successful in school. This belief drives our culture and our commitment to our staff. Working at ICEF provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with others who share the same purpose, offering a chance to grow professionally with multiple layers of support.
As an English Teacher, you will create and maintain a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment. Your day will involve employing a wide variety of teaching methods designed to create opportunities for deep understanding and differentiated instruction for all levels of ability, including students with special needs. You will utilize ICEF Common Assessments and Unit Assessment results to tailor instruction for both low and high-performing students.
You will implement ICEF's Essential Elements and Core Values, including the Instructional Model, College-Going Culture, College Style Discourse, College Level Analytical Writing, College Style Study Habits, and Backward Mapping to College Standards, while integrating technology through Blended learning. Your role extends to creating a powerfully engaging curriculum that moves students toward meeting the proficient performance of high-priority standards identified in ICEF Instructional Guides and California Common Core Standards.
Collaboration is central to your success. You will work closely with the Special Education Team and ELL Support Staff to ensure students with additional needs can access the curriculum. Additionally, you will participate in monthly Parent Engagement Meetings, Back-to-School Nights, and Parent Conferences, maintaining consistent and meaningful communication with families.
ICEF Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer to all, regardless of age, ancestry, color, disability, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, national origin, pregnancy, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every student and staff member can thrive.
