About the Role

Lexington Health Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled Hematologist/Oncologist to establish and develop a new practice location in the Northeast area of Columbia, SC. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and clinically excellent medical oncologist with previous experience in a multi-disciplinary, patient-centric, and growing environment.

The role involves managing a mix of outpatient clinic and infusion suite duties, with a weekly schedule designed to balance clinical care and patient interaction. Physicians are encouraged to participate in clinical research, with every doctor involved in at least one trial. The position includes participation in weekly tumor conferences attended by radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care.

To support this mission, the practice offers oncology-trained APP support and a dedicated USP 800 certified oncology pharmacy. The facility features an onsite lab processing unit and a 16-infusion chair suite. Physicians also have access to remote and onsite patient navigation, oncology dietician, social work, and genetic counseling services.

About the Team and Facility

Lexington Oncology Northeast operates out of an 18,000 sqft state-of-the-art practice. The program has been awarded the Cancer Center of Excellence by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and is one of only five hospitals in South Carolina, and the only in the Midlands, to be Quality Oncology Practice Initiative certified. Patient care and satisfaction are central to the mission, with scores consistently ranked in the top 15% in the nation.

Lexington Health has partnered with Duke Cancer Network to provide patients with clinical trial access through a research and education agreement. Additionally, all new physicians in the Lexington Health network receive a marketing plan designed to introduce them to patients in the community and assist in growing a thriving practice.
