The Memphis VA Medical Center is a 1a-complexity tertiary care facility and part of the largest healthcare system in the world. The main campus includes 236 inpatient beds, a 26-bed Spinal Cord Injury Unit, and in-house Radiation Therapy. It operates as a teaching hospital, providing guidance to residents, fellows, and medical students using state-of-the-art technology.
The Hematology-Oncology Clinic consists of three physicians and a host of medical support staff. The position offers a dual academic appointment with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), reporting directly to the Section Chief of Hematology Oncology and administratively to the Chief of Medicine (Specialty Care). The team collaborates within a multidisciplinary environment to provide comprehensive care to veterans.
This role serves as a vital link in the world's largest healthcare system, fulfilling President Lincoln's promise to care for those who have served. As a Hematology-Oncology Physician, you will balance clinical practice with academic responsibilities, supervising and teaching fellows, residents, and medical students. You will conduct rounds in inpatient settings, provide consultations for diagnosis and treatment, and lead patient care planning that includes patients, families, and caregivers.
