About the Role
The Level 2 Desktop Technician serves as a critical hands-on resource for break-fix repair and direct hardware remediation across our office, manufacturing, warehouse, and remote environments. This role goes beyond standard peripheral support, requiring deep expertise in internal laptop and desktop diagnostics, system disassembly, and component replacement.
You will be the frontline resolver for helpdesk and operational technology requests, supporting a diverse ecosystem of Windows, macOS, ChromeOS, mobile devices, IP telephony, and production-floor technology. Your day will involve collaborating with IT team members to maintain business-critical operations in a 24/7 facility, supporting international users outside regular business hours, and ensuring seamless connectivity across five buildings in Somerset.

- check_circleInstall and configure desktops, laptops, tablets, and conference room technology
- check_circleManage user accounts in Active Directory, Exchange, and Azure AD for onboarding and offboarding
- check_circleInvestigate and resolve helpdesk requests via ticketing systems and phone
- check_circleMaintain and manage shared printers, label printers, and production-floor barcode equipment
- check_circleTroubleshoot network connectivity issues including Ethernet drops and Wi-Fi authentication
- check_circleDocument troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and root cause details within tickets
- check_circlePerform break-fix repairs and hardware remediation for laptops and desktops
- check_circleProvide onsite support across multiple buildings and participate in on-call rotations
Requirements
- verifiedMinimum 3 to 5 years of industry experience
- verifiedBachelor's degree, A+, or Microsoft certifications
- verifiedValid driver's license and personal vehicle
- verifiedWorking knowledge of Windows 10/11, ChromeOS, iOS, Android, Mac
- verifiedProficient in disassembling and servicing desktop and laptop systems
- verifiedFoundational understanding of AI tools
- verifiedKnowledge of LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi architecture including VLANs, DHCP, DNS
