About the Role
The Equipment Operator is a vital member of our landfill operations team, responsible for operating and maintaining heavy, motorized equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will play a key role in processing incoming materials to build waste cells according to designed landfill permitted plans, ensuring the site remains leveled, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
In this role, you will work closely with traffic control spotters to identify fill areas for dumping solid waste and coordinate tasks using handheld mobile radio units. Your day-to-day activities involve operating various machines such as front-end wheel loaders, dozers, scrapers, and compactors to manage earth moving, trash processing, and composting operations. You will also be responsible for maintaining access and hauling roads, performing dust control, and ensuring all equipment is inspected and maintained according to company policy.
