The Northwell Health Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine seeks a gynecological pathologist for our central Anatomic Pathology Services practice. This practice serves Nassau and Suffolk Counties in Long Island and the Queens borough of New York City. It covers the tertiary Long Island Jewish Medical Center, known for its robust Surgical Oncology programming for the central region of the 28-hospital Northwell Health System, as well as the quaternary North Shore University Hospital.
Northwell Health is New York State's largest healthcare provider and private employer. With 28 hospitals, 1050 outpatient facilities, and more than 16,600 affiliated physicians, we care for over two million people annually in the New York metro area and beyond. Our 103,500 employees—including 19,000+ nurses and 12,000+ credentialed physicians—are working to change healthcare for the better. We are making breakthroughs in medicine at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research and training the next generation of medical professionals at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a high-volume practice with an annual gynecological pathology case volume exceeding 27,000 (including 24,000 biopsies and over 3,000 large cases). Physicians will be employed as members of Northwell Physician Partners, the fifth largest medical group in the country. The role includes an academic appointment with The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, commensurate with credentials and experience.
We are looking for candidates with a commitment to education and an academic background. While 3 years of experience as an attending pathologist is preferred, fellowship-trained new graduates will be considered. This role is ideal for professionals who are relentless about staying ahead of the latest clinical trials and research, partnering with our own Feinstein Institute and other world-renowned institutions.
