The Group Leader serves as the operational and technical anchor for a scientific team within our contract research laboratory environment. This role exists to ensure the successful execution of client studies while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory standards such as GMP. It is a unique blend of technical expertise, people leadership, and operational oversight designed to deliver high-quality, timely, and compliant results.
In this position, you will lead a team of technicians and analysts, guiding them through daily operations with a focus on positive interaction and professional development. Your day involves coordinating complex work projects to prioritize laboratory workload, ensuring that quality, on-time performance, and turnaround times (TAT) meet client requirements. You will be the primary interface for communicating study progress to clients and will work closely with management to address delays or technical issues.
Beyond management, you will actively engage in the scientific process by devising solutions for technical problems, conducting root cause analyses on deviations, and performing statistical data analysis to identify assay trends. You will also be responsible for training and mentoring analysts, ensuring the team remains skilled and compliant.
This is a full-time position based in Columbia, MO, with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility is available as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of St. Louis, MO are encouraged to apply.
