Founded in 1819, the University of Cincinnati is a Carnegie 1 institution and one of the nation's best urban public research universities. Home to over 53,600 students and 12,000 faculty and staff, UC combines research prowess with a physical setting described by The New York Times as "the most ambitious campus design program in the country." As the anchor of the Cincinnati Innovation District and home to the oldest cooperative education program in the nation, UC contributes $10.6 billion in economic impact to the city and $22.7 billion to the state of Ohio.
UC is a mission-driven organization committed to student success and positively transforming the community through scholarship and service. We thrive on innovation, making an impact, and fostering an environment where staff and faculty are key contributors to UC's success.
The Cooperative Grants Office (CGO) is a centralized department within the Office of Research. The office is primarily responsible for the development, review, and submission of sponsored research proposals, serving as a critical hub for faculty and staff navigating the complexities of external funding.
The Grant Administrator Pre-Award serves as a vital partner to Principal Investigators, responsible for the development of proposals that strictly comply with University, funder, and federal requirements. This role involves close collaboration with the Principal Investigator to craft proposal submissions and working with the Authorized Organizational Representative to ensure all required documents are submitted on time. The position requires the ability to learn quickly and adapt to meet the demands of both simple and complex proposal submissions while building effective professional relationships across varied university environments.
To apply, candidates must create a profile and submit a complete job application through the UC applicant portal. A resume and cover letter are required and must be attached before submission; "easy apply" applications via other websites cannot be considered. Current UC employees must apply internally via SuccessFactors. For questions regarding the recruiting process or to request accommodations, please contact UC HR at jobs@uc.edu.
The University of Cincinnati is an E-Verify employer and an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to building a workplace where all qualified applicants receive consideration for employment, including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans. If hired, candidates will be required to provide satisfactory proof of employment eligibility through the Federal I-9 employment verification process.
