About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a General Superintendent I to provide leadership and oversee the coordination of project site work activities for multiple construction projects or large, complex construction sites. In this role, you will supervise on-site work teams, assist in coordinating the management of craft and office personnel, and oversee equipment facility management.

You will collaborate with other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule. Working closely with Project Managers, you will help budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, and the general working environment. A key part of your day involves leading the creation and review of project schedules, three-week look-ahead planning, and site utilization plans.

Beyond logistics, you will provide leadership to work crews through coaching, mentorship, and performance evaluations for field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents. You will implement Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety Program, manage open shop and union issues, and build strong relationships with visitors including customers, architects, union representatives, and subcontractors. Additionally, you will assist the Field Operations Manager with monthly project reviews covering budget, schedule, labor, safety, quality, and equipment.
