About the Role
The Area Leader is the steward of the Meijer culture and the driving force behind team member engagement within their span of care. This role exists to ensure that every team member receives the onboarding, training, coaching, and feedback necessary to succeed. You will direct Leads and Team Leaders while ultimately being accountable for area operations, financial performance, and the overall condition of the store.
In this position, you will foster a diverse talent pipeline through candid career discussions and succession planning. You will analyze financial and statistical data to make informed decisions that maximize sales and productivity, owning specific budget line items in the P&L. Beyond operations, you are responsible for driving safety and compliance, resolving team member and customer conflicts, and implementing process improvements that set the industry standard.
