About the Role
We are seeking multiple qualified General Laborers to join our dynamic field teams. This role is vital to the success of our projects, serving as the backbone for skilled trades and construction activities. You will work closely with Project Foremen and crew members to load, offload, and organize supplies, materials, and equipment at company yards and job sites. The position requires maintaining safe work environments and preparing sites for various construction tasks.
This is a physically demanding role designed for individuals who thrive in a team environment. You will perform trade duties for extended periods, often in adverse conditions, including extreme cold and heat. Success in this role requires the ability to work productively under pressure, follow instructions actively, and maintain a strong work ethic with or without direct supervision. You will be expected to report any safety incidents or ethical concerns immediately to supervisors and the Safety Manager, ensuring the company operates safely and profitably.
Hiring Process & Requirements
To join our team, candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic and reliability. While one year of construction experience and proficiency with hand and power tools are preferred, prior experience in Alaska's rural construction industry is a significant asset. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be available for a flexible schedule, potentially working up to 12 hours per day, seven days a week.
As a condition of employment, all candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screening, a Fit For Duty physical, and an acceptable background check. Depending on the specific contract, you may also need to obtain appropriate security clearance levels and access to military installations. This role involves significant physical exertion, including pulling and managing heavy equipment, and requires the ability to work in all weather conditions.
