This position is essential to maintaining the County's sewer collection network. As a Utilities Construction Worker, you will perform heavy manual labor to install, repair, and maintain critical infrastructure. Your day-to-day work involves clearing easements through brush cutting and tree trimming, repairing sewer lines and manholes, and mixing concrete. You will assist construction crews in all phases of daily operations while ensuring all tools and equipment are properly maintained.
The work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions and involves exposure to typical hazards associated with outside maintenance and construction. This is an essential role that requires reporting to work during inclement weather, extreme conditions, and outside of normal working hours, including when county offices are closed. Employees are required to participate in a regularly scheduled rotating on-call basis.
Depending on your position level, you may serve as a lead worker, guiding others through complex tasks and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
