Join the Butler Dynamic Systems Design Team, where you will support critical military aircraft programs. As a Gearbox Design Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be a key contributor to the development of advanced aerospace systems, ensuring the highest standards of engineering and innovation.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work on clean-sheet gearbox design for military applications. You will be responsible for designing and developing new gearbox systems from the ground up, without relying on existing configurations or preliminary data. Your work will encompass the sizing and design of gears, bearings, shafts, and housings, alongside critical lubrication analysis.
You will leverage your expertise in designing castings, forgings, and machined parts to drive project success. Proficiency in Catia V5 is essential, specifically utilizing generative shape design, part design, and assembly design workbenches for 3D modeling, as well as 2D drafting capabilities. A strong command of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 is required to ensure precision and compliance.
Beyond technical execution, this role demands excellent communication and problem-solving skills to collaborate effectively within the team. Experience with Catia V5 Model Based Design (MBD) using the Functional Tolerancing and Annotation (FT&A) workbench is highly preferred.
