The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is responsible for implementing the expanded gaming law (Chapter 194 of the Acts of 2011). The Commission is tasked with establishing a regulatory framework for the solicitation, licensing, taxation, and oversight of casino and slots parlor licenses in the Commonwealth.
This position creates a pipeline of qualified candidates for the Gaming Agent Division, specifically assigned to the Encore Boston Harbor Casino. Under the direction of Supervising Gaming Agents, the Gaming Agent I reviews the activities of a licensed gaming facility with a primary focus on certifying revenue.
The role requires establishing and maintaining professional relationships with casino operators and managers while ensuring constant communication with supervisors. You will work closely with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to conduct regulatory investigations and prepare complex, detailed reports. The position involves observing casino operations, monitoring revenue compliance, and resolving concerns from patrons and the public.
The successful candidate will be required to pass an extensive background check. This includes a full credit check, CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) review, fingerprinting, a drug screen, and a review of income tax standing with the MA DOR and IRS.
