About the Role
We are seeking a Fund Accountant to join a fast-growing investment firm leading innovative financial strategies. This position is designed for professionals with Big 4 auditing experience—particularly with private equity (PE) or venture capital (VC) clients—or those currently serving as Fund Accountants for PE firms.
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will play an integral role in expanding and enhancing the firm's accounting, reporting, and operations functions. This role offers broad exposure to multiple aspects of finance and operations within a high-growth environment, allowing you to impact the firm's trajectory positively. You will work closely with leadership across all levels, supporting investment activities, managing audit processes, and ensuring compliance with credit facility requirements and regulatory filings.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOversee fund accounting operations including capital calls, distributions, and financial statements
- check_circleSupport investment activities such as deal closings and realizations to ensure smooth execution
- check_circleMonitor compliance with credit facility requirements and coordinate with stakeholders
- check_circleLead investment valuations and ensure consistent portfolio reporting standards
- check_circleManage audit processes, prepare documentation, and provide timely support to auditors
- check_circleReview quarterly financial and capital account statements for accuracy
- check_circleEnsure annual federal and state tax compliance by coordinating with external tax preparers
- check_circleAssist with regulatory filings and compliance reporting alongside the Chief Compliance Officer
- check_circleLead budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking for fund-level financial metrics
- check_circleManage books and records for internal entities such as the management company and General Partner
- check_circleAddress investor requests during fundraising and throughout fund lifecycles
- check_circlePartner on special projects to support growth and operational efficiencies
Requirements
- verified2-5 years of fund accounting expertise in private equity, venture capital, or hedge funds OR Big 4 public accounting experience auditing alternative investment firms
