About the Role
This position is dedicated to the safe and efficient transport of fuel and liquefied petroleum gas. Drivers serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while upholding the highest standards of safety and service.
Daily Responsibilities
Your day involves operating an assigned tractor/trailer and tanker to deliver petroleum products. You will maintain constant communication with dispatch, manage all necessary trip and fuel reports, and ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and company regulations regarding cargo tank motor vehicles. A key part of your role is responding promptly to customer needs and adhering to company guidelines for conduct with clients, co-workers, and the public.
Work Environment
This role requires working in an environment where you are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. You will frequently encounter outdoor weather conditions and occasionally face high, precarious places or risks of electrical shock. The noise level is typically moderate.
Physical Demands
Success in this role requires the ability to lift, move, and exert force ranging from 10 to 100 lbs. depending on the task. You will sit for extended periods, driving up to 11 hours, and must be physically capable of walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and squatting. These actions are necessary for hooking and dropping tractor/trailer combinations, climbing trailers to close dome lids, performing vehicle inspections, and handling heavy hoses (up to 75 lbs.) during coupling and disconnecting processes.
