This position serves as a vital support system for physicians, nurses, and other medical staff by performing essential administrative duties. You will be the first point of contact for patients, greeting them and managing the check-in process. Your day will involve verifying insurance, handling payments, and answering phone calls to direct inquiries to the appropriate lines or personnel. Additionally, you will manage the sorting and distribution of mail, maintain the patient filing system, and perform various clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing, and faxing.
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree (preferred) or a High School Diploma (required) and 1-2 years of related experience are encouraged to apply. We look for individuals who are comfortable communicating with patients of all ages and ethnic backgrounds, possess active listening skills, and demonstrate social perceptiveness. Proficiency in mathematics is essential for balancing cash and credit card receipts. Applicants must be comfortable with computers, possess strong typing skills, and be familiar with Electronic Medical Record usage. A commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance at all times and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are required.
