This position serves as a vital link in the freight transport network, responsible for moving cargo across the dock area to and from trailers. The role ensures that freight is loaded, secured, and documented accurately to maintain the integrity of the shipping process.
You will operate both motorized and manual equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to handle freight of varying weights. A key part of your day involves verifying that documentation matches the physical freight, including checking details like type, weight, and hazardous material classifications. You will also be responsible for securing loads inside trailers using appropriate tools like straps and ropes, and performing necessary repairs on damaged freight.
The work environment is a fast-paced, deadline-oriented dock setting. You will navigate exposure to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, and noise. The role requires physical stamina to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds and open trailer doors requiring 75 pounds of force, often multiple times per day. While the position demands the ability to work independently, you will also collaborate with service center personnel and team members to meet operational needs.
To apply, please submit your resume through the official career portal. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age. While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, prior experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations will be considered a strong asset.
