The Fraud Investigator is a senior-level role designed to protect ESL Federal Credit Union and its members from fraud risk, loss, and reputational harm. This position serves as the primary guardian of our financial integrity, managing complex fraud investigations while ensuring strict regulatory compliance. You will act as a bridge between the institution, our members, and law enforcement, utilizing your expertise in fraud detection and case management to resolve high-risk incidents.
In this role, you will not only investigate identity theft, account takeovers, and unauthorized transactions but also collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Operations to develop proactive fraud prevention strategies. Your work involves educating team members on emerging fraud tactics and maintaining critical relationships with external agencies. You will be the voice of the investigation for impacted members, ensuring they understand timelines and outcomes while maintaining composure in conflict resolution.
This position is remote eligible for up to 40% of the time. The standard shift runs Monday through Friday between 7:00 am and 7:30 pm. However, the nature of fraud investigation requires flexibility; the ability to work a rotational shift, cover Saturdays, and be on-call 24x7x365 is required dependent on business need. The role demands resilience to manage stress in a fast-paced environment, particularly during periods of high alert activity.
