The Business Resource Center (BRC) oversees King County's business systems, including applications, infrastructure, software, and vendor relationships. The team supports business processes, system governance, and work prioritization to effectively serve county agencies. Within the BRC, the Financials and Procurement Team (FPS) specializes in Oracle EBS Financials and Procurement, Oracle Procurement Cloud, and SAP Concur travel management. The team collaborates with business partners and departments to deliver financial, procurement, travel management, and expense solutions across all county operations.
The FPS team operates within an innovative and progressive environment that is redefining how the department works during its transition to a hybrid model. As Forbes named King County one of Washington State's best employers, the BRC is recognized as a model of excellence in government service delivery.
Employees describe the BRC as an environment with highly diverse work groups and business partners, offering opportunities for professional growth, learning new skills, and tackling the latest technology. Employee ideas and contributions are highly valued, with supervisors supporting staff in bringing solutions to stakeholders. The role offers the freedom to manage one's own workload, providing a balance of challenge and reward through root cause analysis and direct interaction with appreciative business partners. The job is constantly evolving, offering new professional challenges within a supportive culture where colleagues root for each other's success.
This is a rare opportunity to join the Financials and Procurement Team as the Technology and Development Team Leader. You will serve as a highly experienced people leader for a group of talented technologists and developers. In this role, you will act as the technical expert and supervisor for the Oracle EBS development team, providing direction and planning for development and integration activities aligned with strategic goals. You will work with technical resources, analysts, and customers across teams to troubleshoot critical business problems and system defects while coordinating ongoing improvements to optimize the customer experience and system performance.
Beyond technical leadership, you will guide and coach staff on individual performance and skill development. You will participate in BRC strategic planning to prioritize work and define the strategic roadmap, ensuring services adapt to changing technology and customer needs. As the Oracle EBS technology representative, you will collaborate effectively with functional analysts, database administrators, and peer supervisors to build consensus among diverse stakeholders with conflicting viewpoints. You will also lead Oracle EBS and Cloud projects with matrixed teams, reviewing solution designs for compatibility with overall system architecture and preparing documentation for executive committees.
