This position serves as a specialized representative for the company's most complex and high-value customers, leveraging deep expertise in flooring, tile, and countertop solutions. The role exists to bridge the gap between intricate customer design requirements and the company's technical capabilities, ensuring that large-scale residential, multi-family, and commercial projects are executed with precision.
As a key liaison, you will navigate the full sales lifecycle—from gathering detailed specifications from client engineers and architects to developing comprehensive sales proposals. You will act as the primary point of contact for specialized customer needs, translating complex design constraints into actionable plans for installation support and technical teams. Beyond the sales floor, you will manage the entire sales pipeline within the company's CRM, FloorZap, and drive growth by identifying and soliciting new business opportunities through market research and competitive analysis.
The day-to-day rhythm involves a blend of strategic planning and hands-on engagement. You will design and deliver professional product demonstrations, explaining how specific solutions meet current and future customer requirements. While the role focuses on complex accounts, it also includes rotating coverage of the showroom on Saturdays and evenings to support the retail business. Additionally, you will play a mentorship role, potentially presenting at training programs to help develop less experienced Outside Sales Representatives.
This role operates in a hybrid environment, requiring time in a typical office setting as well as travel to various customer sites. The position involves navigating both indoor and outdoor locations, subject to varying weather conditions. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently, with occasional lifts up to 80 pounds. A valid driver's license is required to travel to customer locations and manage site visits effectively.
