Designer

About the Role

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless, start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with our customers. You will be responsible for meeting with customers to listen to their project needs, educating them on all requirements, and building creative design concepts that incorporate their personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

In this role, you will greet store customers in a helpful manner and support walk-in design needs. You will schedule design appointments for existing and potential clients, developing your clientele through networking, referrals, and in-store leads. You will provide expert advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects.

Your day-to-day involves designing and selling complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions. You will manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, ensuring consistent and concise communication. You will collaborate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, achieving sales and other goals while enthusiastically supporting company initiatives and modeling best practices.

Working Environment

This position is based in a warehouse environment where you will be frequently exposed to moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy. The role requires the ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. You will often be required to use your hands and fingers to handle or feel, and occasionally stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Limited travel by car may be required. Store hours vary by day, generally running from early morning to evening, with specific pickup hours also available.
