This role serves as a critical maintenance resource for the City, ensuring the operational readiness of a diverse fleet ranging from light vehicles and construction equipment to heavy-duty fire, police, and refuse vehicles. Under minimal supervision, the incumbent is responsible for the comprehensive overhaul, repair, and maintenance of these assets, utilizing best practices to keep essential municipal services running smoothly.
The position requires a hands-on approach to diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues across a wide spectrum of equipment, including generators, street sweepers, and small engine machinery. Beyond technical repairs, the role involves managing parts inventory, maintaining accurate equipment records, and providing exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders.

The selection process consists of a weighted Oral Appraisal Interview (100% weight), tentatively scheduled for June 10, 2026. Admission to the interview is not guaranteed for all applicants who meet the minimum qualifications; only those demonstrating the best combination of qualifications will be invited.
