About the Role
We are seeking an experienced First Article Inspector to join and grow within the PPG organization. This role is vital to ensuring the highest level of accuracy and precision in measuring complex aerospace components. You will operate and program CMMs to inspect detailed components according to strict engineering specifications and standards, serving as a key partner to engineering and production teams in resolving discrepancies and driving continuous quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleConduct first article and first piece inspections to verify parts meet specifications
- check_circleProgram and operate CMM machines to measure complex aerospace components
- check_circleDevelop and modify CMM programs using Calypso software based on engineering drawings
- check_circleDocument inspection results and highlight non-conformances or deviations
- check_circleCollaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement discrepancies
- check_circlePerform routine maintenance and calibration on CMM equipment to ensure precision
- check_circleTrain and mentor team members in CMM operations and programming techniques
- check_circleAnalyze inspection data to identify trends and assist in creating quality reports
Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma or equivalent
- verifiedAssociate's or bachelor's degree in technical field preferred
- verifiedMinimum 10 years CMM experience in aerospace/defense
- verifiedExpert in Calypso CMM software
- verifiedStrong GD&T and blueprint knowledge
- verifiedExperience with AS9102 first article inspection
- verifiedExperience with robotic CMMs and automation
- verifiedCertification or formal training in CMM operation

Nice to Have
Associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related discipline). Experience with robotic CMMs and automation systems. Certification or formal training in CMM operation and programming. Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.
