As a Fire Sprinkler Fitter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of newly constructed structures and existing renovations. You will be responsible for the precise installation of sprinkler heads, valves, and both steel and CPVC piping systems with minimal supervision. This position requires a blend of technical precision, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety protocols.
You will work directly from blueprints and construction documents to fabricate and install fire protection components. Your day-to-day involves interpreting complex plans, trimming valves for various system types (wet, dry, and pre-action), and maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Beyond installation, you will assist in training apprentices and reporting daily progress to the field foreman, ensuring projects stay on schedule and meet design specifications.
This role demands adaptability to diverse physical conditions. You will frequently work both indoors and outdoors, often in hot or cold temperatures, loud environments, and cramped quarters. The job involves exposure to dust, fumes, and electrical hazards, requiring consistent use of personal protective equipment. You must be prepared for frequent local travel, with occasional regional and non-regional trips, and the ability to navigate uneven surfaces, heights, and heavy lifting.
