About the Role
As a Fire Protection Sprinkler Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation and testing of automatic fire suppression systems. This role is critical to ensuring the safety and compliance of the facilities we serve. You will read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements, then install clamps, brackets, and hangers to support piping systems and sprinkler equipment. Your work involves connecting piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors, and control equipment, followed by rigorous testing for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment.
In this position, you will also train and direct the day-to-day work of a Helper, maintaining appropriate documentation for all work performed. Success in this role requires the ability to interpret blueprints and architectural drawings, knowledge of NFPA Standards, and the capacity to multi-task with minimal supervision while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
The work environment is representative of active construction sites. You may work in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness. The role may involve exposure to moderate to high noise levels, fumes, or airborne particles, and may require working in confined spaces or from high heights. You will routinely use construction equipment, heavy machinery, and hand and power tools, often working aloft, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
