The Finance Technician I-Accounting serves as the primary customer-facing contact within the Finance office, bridging the gap between City staff, the general public, and external vendors. In this position, you will perform detailed technical work that includes recording cash receipts, ensuring accurate general ledger coding, and maintaining appropriate supporting documentation. You will classify receipts and expenditures according to standing accounting classifications and manage travel requests, working directly with the City's travel agent to review statements and resolve disputes. Additionally, the role involves maintaining a listing of city-owned parcels and coordinating approvals and purchase requisitions for semi-annual county property tax payments.
Success in this role requires a strong working knowledge of accounting methods, terminology, principles, and procedures, alongside the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
