As a Field Service Engineer, you will serve as the critical technical bridge between FieldAI's robotics platform, our customers, and our engineering teams. Your primary mission is to ensure the reliability of our robotic fleet within diverse customer environments while translating real-world field observations into actionable feedback that drives product and engineering innovation.
This is a highly practical, customer-facing role that balances mechanical and electrical repair with software-based troubleshooting and operational support. You will be instrumental in bringing new robots online, managing fleet health, and coordinating complex logistics to keep operations running smoothly.
We are tackling one of the world's most complex challenges: deploying robots in unstructured, previously unknown environments. Our Field Foundational Models™ set a new standard in perception, planning, localization, and manipulation, ensuring our approach is both explainable and safe for deployment.
You will join a world-class team that thrives on creativity, resilience, and bold thinking. With a decade-long track record of deploying solutions in the field, winning DARPA challenge segments, and bringing expertise from organizations like DeepMind, NASA JPL, Boston Dynamics, NVIDIA, Amazon, Tesla Autopilot, Cruise Self-Driving, Zoox, Toyota Research Institute, and SpaceX, we are poised to achieve our ambitious goals.
To tackle such challenges, we need a team as unique as our vision. We are seeking innovators who go beyond conventional methods, challenge the status quo, and dive into uncharted territory. Our team requires not only top AI talent but also exceptional software developers, engineers, product designers, field deployment experts, and communicators.
We are headquartered in sunny Irvine, Southern California, with a mix of US-based and global teammates. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Our team is fun, close-knit, and eager to shape the future of robotics.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.

FieldAI is a robotics engineering firm headquartered in Irvine, California, specializing in developing general-purpose autonomy systems for robots operating in complex and hazardous real-world environments. The company integrates data-driven approaches with physics-based methodologies to power its Field Foundation Model (FFM). This technology stands as the first risk-aware, physics-first foundation model designed to function across any robot type without relying on pre-trained datasets, GPS signals, digital maps, or pre-programmed routes.
The core system operates through a continuous data flywheel that ingests input, evaluates uncertainty, assesses risk, and executes actions accordingly. Each deployment contributes to increased reliability and expands the capabilities of the global fleet, enabling autonomous operation in unstructured settings. FieldAI focuses on deploying autonomous robotic fleets at scale, allowing them to navigate and perform tasks in diverse, unpredictable environments while maintaining safety and efficiency.
