The Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR) is dedicated to funding the state's future through excellence in innovation, exceptional customer service, and public servant-led continuous improvement. Our mission is simple yet profound: to serve taxpayers. We are looking for individuals who are deeply committed to service, community, and teamwork to join our amazing team.
As a Field Auditor 3, you will be a pivotal part of our Division of Taxpayer Services, performing moderately difficult and complex auditing work for state, county, and city jurisdictions. You will handle intra- and interstate businesses, as well as corporate income tax for multi-state and multinational taxpayers. Your work ensures that ADOR policies, procedures, and regulations are applied consistently across all taxpayers.
In this role, you will determine tax liabilities, prepare working papers, and draft recommendations for final audit memorandums. You will review refund requests, research statutes and administrative codes to determine taxability, and represent the department at informal and formal hearings. Beyond the technical aspects, you will foster voluntary compliance, explain complex audit assessments to taxpayers and professionals, and drive continuous improvement within the Arizona Management System (AMS).
