About the Role
As a Facilities Operations Manager - Mechanical, you will lead the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical systems supporting OCI data centers. Reporting to the Site Operations Director, this role owns the day-to-day execution of mechanical plant operations, maintenance, vendor performance, and technician leadership. You will be the primary technical lead for cooling and HVAC infrastructure, overseeing systems such as chillers, cooling towers, pumps, CRAHs, AHUs, CDUs, and fan walls.
This position is focused on operational excellence rather than long-range design. You will drive troubleshooting for mechanical failures, manage incident escalations, and ensure work is executed safely and consistently to Oracle standards. Your day will involve partnering with engineering and commissioning teams on system turnarounds, leading root cause analyses for recurring issues, and coaching technicians to strengthen their troubleshooting capabilities. You will champion a culture of safety, environmental compliance, and disciplined process execution to protect uptime and customer trust.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleLead daily operations, maintenance, and service execution for critical mechanical and HVAC infrastructure
- check_circleOwn mechanical plant readiness including preventive maintenance, corrective work, and backlog management
- check_circleManage facilities technicians, contractors, and service vendors to ensure safety and SLA adherence
- check_circleDrive troubleshooting and response for mechanical failures to protect system uptime
- check_circlePartner with engineering and commissioning teams on retrofits, upgrades, and system turnover
- check_circleLead root cause analysis for major issues and ensure corrective actions are fully implemented
- check_circleMaintain audit-ready records including procedures, service reports, and CMMS data
- check_circleCoach and develop technicians to strengthen troubleshooting capability and technical depth
Requirements
- verified5-8 years experience in mechanical plant operations or HVAC
- verified2-4+ years leading technicians or maintenance teams
- verifiedStrong knowledge of chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, CRAHs, AHUs, CDUs
- verifiedFamiliarity with BMS, SCADA, DCIM, and CMMS tools
- verifiedEPA Section 608 Certification preferred
- verifiedHVAC trade license or mechanical certification preferred
- verifiedOSHA 30 preferred
- verifiedOEM training on chillers or cooling systems preferred
Nice to Have
Experience supporting commissioning, turnover, or operational acceptance of new or upgraded mechanical systems. Experience with mission-critical cooling infrastructure and redundancy strategies in high-availability environments. Familiarity with predictive maintenance, trend analysis, controls integration, and operational performance monitoring. EPA Section 608 Certification where refrigerant-handling responsibilities apply. HVAC trade license, mechanical certification, or equivalent technical qualification where applicable. OEM or manufacturer training on chillers, cooling systems, pumps, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC systems, or related controls platforms. OSHA 30 certification.
