Founded in 1876, The Boys' Club of New York (BCNY) is a youth development organization with the mission to empower boys and young men, ages 7 to 21, by providing effective programs and a supportive community. BCNY provides evidence-based programs to address the evolving social, emotional, health, creative, educational, and vocational needs of our members in meaningful, lasting ways. About the Role
As an Explorer Group Leader, you will be the frontline guardian of our members' safety and engagement. This role is dedicated to the direct guidance, supervision, and care of boys ages 7 to 11. You will build rapport with members through positive interactions, ensuring an environment that is both safe and intellectually stimulating. Beyond direct supervision, you will play a key role in managing program assistants and volunteers, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere that supports the daily rhythm of our programs.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circlePlan, implement, and facilitate age-appropriate curriculum, activities, and games
- check_circleProvide guidance, problem-solving, and behavior modification as needed
- check_circleParticipate in indoor and outdoor activities with members
- check_circleUse behavior management strategies to defuse inappropriate behavior and report incidents
- check_circleAttend mandatory professional development trainings
- check_circleEnsure proper care of materials, organize rooms, and report damage to the Program Director
- check_circleSupervise and coordinate daily activities for a group of 10-21 boys ages 7-11
- check_circleAssist with daily set-up, clean up, and transportation logistics
Requirements
- verifiedPrevious experience in youth development, education, or afterschool
- verifiedAssociates' or Bachelor's degree preferred
- verifiedFirst Aid and CPR certification desirable
