The Hardware Engineering department leads in the mechanical and electrical hardware design, development, and production of weapons systems. We use state-of-the-art tools, processes, and technology, with capabilities encompassing a broad range of technical disciplines, including product engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials engineering, analysis and test, rapid hardware development/builds, and configuration and data management documentation.
The Engineering Rapid Build Services (ERBS) department within Hardware Engineering is chartered to deliver agile services. We bridge across Operations and Engineering, providing solutions through the execution of quick-turn procurement and manufacturing. ERBS is skilled in special test equipment and program trainers, executing prototyping and high-mix/low-rate procurement and fabrication activities with a focus in-house electro-mechanical packaging, support equipment, and liquid cooling systems integration. We strive to minimize cycle times and provide best value through the utilization of dynamic and agile processes.
This role serves as the Section Leader of the Test Equipment and Prototyping Test and Inspection Section for ERBS in Tucson, AZ. The purpose of this section is to support technicians who fabricate, test, and inspect electrical and mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies, including cables, chassis, CCAs, test racks, and other assemblies in support of Test Equipment development and integration.
In this on-site position, you will foster a culture of teamwork and interdependent execution. You will provide guidance, direction, and mentoring to your team while overseeing shop operations and processes, including driving process improvements. A key part of your day involves providing technical guidance for troubleshooting fabrication, test, and inspection-related issues, as well as identifying alternate tooling in response to obsolescence or availability issues. You will collaborate with the Department Leader and other ERBS Section Leaders to execute Hardware Engineering goals and participate in performance development processes to ensure your team has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth.
