At GFL, our goal is to invest in our people and provide opportunities to grow for life! Our employees are affectionately known as "Team Green," a name that unites us all under our shared purpose of providing sustainable solutions to enable our customers and communities to be GREEN FOR LIFE!
GFL Environmental is one of North America's leading waste management companies, proudly making communities cleaner, safer, and happier through first-class service. Working for GFL is more than a job—it's an opportunity to grow in your career, make new friends, and make a difference each day.
This role is centered on the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, including forklifts, bobcats, backhoes, track hoes, compactors, and steer equipment. You will be responsible for baling, loading, and moving waste material at assigned sites. The position requires a hands-on approach to equipment maintenance, including daily inspections, greasing, fluid checks, and cleaning tracks and gear mechanisms to ensure operational readiness.
As a key member of the field crew, you will communicate effectively with co-workers and the office via two-way radio to coordinate daily priorities. You must be adaptable, ready to substitute for other operators when needed, and committed to maintaining the appearance of the grounds and facility. This role demands a strong adherence to safety protocols and company policies while working in an outdoor environment exposed to various weather conditions.
