About the Opportunity
A-Line Staffing is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Production Test Technician role supporting a Fortune 500 client in Durham, NC. This position offers a contract-to-hire pathway with significant potential for permanent placement, contingent upon attendance, performance, and business needs. The role is designed for individuals seeking career growth within a structured, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Role Context
As a Manufacturing Production Test Technician, you will serve as a critical link between engineering and production teams. Your primary mission is to ensure the reliability and safety of vial-fill machines through rigorous testing, troubleshooting, and configuration. You will spend your day diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues using schematics and diagnostic tools, performing necessary repairs and calibrations, and ensuring all units meet strict quality standards before shipment.
The position operates on a full-time basis (40+ hours per week) with a shift schedule of Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. To prepare for the evening shift, technicians will undergo a 4–6 week training period on the first shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM). Success in this role requires a collaborative spirit, as you will work closely with engineering and production staff to resolve issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Pre-Screening Process
Candidates will be asked to answer specific technical pre-screening questions to assess their foundational knowledge. These questions cover topics such as command prompt operations, IP address identification and configuration, boot order changes, power supply functions, and real-world examples of machine troubleshooting.
Requirements & Logistics
- Background Check: A background check is required prior to starting; however, no drug screening is required for this position.
- Safety Gear: Steel or composite toe safety shoes are mandatory (safety glasses are provided).
- Attendance: Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days of employment.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation is required.
Benefits & Eligibility
Benefits become available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment. Additionally, a 401(k) plan with a company match is available for full-time employees who have completed one year of service, subject to eligibility dates.
