About the Team

Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinics (SPEC) is a progressive, equine-exclusive practice located on California's Central Coast. We are proud to be part of the Altano International network, which connects us to a global community of specialists and provides robust continuing education opportunities while maintaining the autonomy and culture of a locally-led hospital.

Our world-class team consists of 22 doctors, including multiple board-certified surgeons and internal medicine specialists, supported by more than 30 skilled staff members. We also collaborate with consulting specialists in sports medicine, cardiology, oncology, and ophthalmology. In addition to our main facility, we operate a busy satellite clinic in Menlo Park serving the San Francisco Bay Area sport horse community.

About the Role

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible equine surgeon with a strong interest in sports medicine and lameness to join our team. This position offers a rare combination of advanced surgical capability, high-level imaging, a strong referral base, and an exceptional quality of life in one of the most desirable equestrian regions in the country.

You will join a supportive team of experienced clinicians and staff, engaging in a diverse surgical caseload that includes both elective and emergency procedures. The role involves active collaboration with referring veterinarians and farriers, as well as mentorship and teaching of interns, students, and colleagues. You will have the opportunity to further develop surgical and sports medicine services within a positive, team-oriented culture.
