The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is dedicated to protecting Michigan's environment and public health by managing air, water, land, and energy resources.
This position serves as an Environmental Project Manager responsible for the assessment, investigation, and remediation of the most complex environmental contamination sites. These are high-risk locations where hazardous substances have been released, posing significant threats to human health or the environment under the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act and other applicable statutes.
In this role, you will directly conduct investigations and remediation efforts while overseeing contractors performing similar work. You will function as the primary point of contact for assigned sites, serving on public meeting panels, responding to public comments, and engaging with the community. Additionally, this position includes a mentorship component, guiding junior staff in their professional development.
