Nakupuna Companies is seeking Environmental Engineers to provide critical engineering and technical support to the Environmental Engineering Branch at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is vital to maintaining environmental compliance within a high-volume manufacturing environment, ensuring the protection of workers, the public, and the surrounding ecosystem.
Engineers in this position will serve as the backbone of the facility's environmental compliance programs, overseeing Air Pollution Control Device (APCD) operations, wastewater management, and waste handling. You will play a key role in driving facility-wide ISO 14001 Environmental Management System initiatives, bridging the gap between regulatory requirements and daily operational realities.
Your work will center on ensuring the facility meets rigorous state and federal standards. You will perform complex environmental compliance calculations, manage reporting dashboards, and interface with regulatory bodies to secure and maintain necessary permits. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to conducting thorough inspections of air, water, and waste systems, documenting findings, and implementing corrective actions to maintain operational integrity.
Beyond compliance, you will support the optimization of APCDs by monitoring operating parameters and troubleshooting issues to ensure permit conditions are met. You will also analyze data to track solvent use, waste generation, and environmental performance metrics, developing tools to visualize this data for stakeholders. Collaboration is key; you will coordinate with external laboratories for sample analysis, participate in incident and spill response reporting, and deliver training to production and support personnel on environmental and safety protocols.
To be considered for this position, candidates must maintain an active Public Trust/Confidential security clearance and be a U.S. citizen. The role is based on-site at the BEP Western Currency Facility in Fort Worth, Texas, with work primarily during normal operating hours, though occasional off-shift support may be required for inspections or environmental events.
Candidates must be prepared to work in both office and industrial settings, including walking long distances on the production floor and climbing stairs or ladders for inspections. The ability to wear required PPE, such as hard hats, safety glasses, and respiratory protection, is essential.
