Britcom International operates within the motor vehicle manufacturing sector, headquartered in York. Founded in 1981, the organization began as a specialist exporter of used commercial vehicles before expanding its reach across African, Caribbean, and Far Eastern markets. The company established a UK sales operation and developed internal capabilities for truck refurbishment, including a dedicated workshop and paintshop by 1987.
During the 1990s, Britcom diversified into used plant machinery and acquired a chassis engineering business while building a global reputation for quality equipment and comprehensive after-sales support. In 2006, operations moved to a 14-acre purpose-built site in York featuring modern offices, extensive workshops, and a storage yard capable of holding over 300 vehicles. To strengthen its footprint in Kenya, the company acquired HVPS in Nairobi, facilitating local financing and servicing for a multi-brand truck offering.
Recent years have marked significant growth in the United Kingdom, with expanded external clientele for engineering and bodyshop services. This development included the opening of a Manchester depot in 2015. Britcom International continues to leverage these capabilities to advance both its export and domestic business operations.
