We all know that it takes a village to develop a child; at the Y, we know that before and after school programs are a vital member of every child's village. As an Enrichment Site Director, you will have the unique opportunity and privilege to impact the lives of youth and their families while leading a staff team of emerging youth development leaders.
Your program is located on the campus of a public school, where you partner with school principals, administrators, and parent organizations like the PTA to ensure the YMCA is deeply engaged and immersed in the school culture. In this role, you develop, organize, and implement a high-quality youth development program that includes academic support, educational enrichment, family engagement, STEAM, physical activity, and more.
Your day begins before the children arrive, handling paperwork, snack orders, and supply pickups. Once the children are present, you work alongside your staff through the daily curriculum. At the end of the day, you greet parents during pickup and prepare for the next day. Your mornings often start with staff team meetings to plan upcoming events and initiatives. Throughout the day, you ensure close visual supervision, manage behavior using positive approaches, and maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and risk management policies.
Beyond daily operations, you assist with budget development, secure necessary supplies, and support the on-boarding and training of new staff. You cultivate positive relationships with parents, the host school, staff, and the community, while also attending and supporting fundraising initiatives and family events.
This program operates on the campus of a public school. Shifts typically include three days per week from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and two days per week with a split shift (7:00 AM–9:00 AM and 12:00 PM–6:00 PM). Occasional night and weekend trainings occur throughout the year. During school breaks, the program operates a full-day camp with hours typically ranging from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
