Sterling Medical, a leading provider of healthcare services for large companies and government agencies, is seeking an Early Childhood Special Educator to support US Military families stationed in Bahrain. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position with excellent compensation and relocation assistance provided. We actively encourage military spouses and dependents to apply.
In this role, you will serve as a vital link in the educational support system for children with significant developmental needs. You will be responsible for preparing special education lesson plans and developing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students with learning, emotional, and behavioral disabilities. The position involves teaching in a specialized 8:1:1 BOCES classroom, providing direct instruction to students with multiple developmental and/or medical needs, and adapting small group instruction to ensure equal access to education.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with teacher assistants and paraeducators, overseeing special education student services provided by contractual partners, and maintaining accurate student records. You will work collaboratively with other teachers to implement academic and behavioral plans, ensuring a supportive environment for elementary school-aged children. A key component of the role involves utilizing developmental assessment tools to facilitate child development and report on student progress.

Experience with administration, scoring, and report writing with respect to assessment tools such as Bayley Infant and Toddler Scales of Development, Developmental Assessment of Young Children, Hawaii Early Learning Profile, and Battelle Developmental Inventory, or any other assessment tools utilized by a recognized state or local early intervention program in the US or an early intervention program administered in support of US beneficiaries overseas.
