Founded in 1971, the Cyert Center at Carnegie Mellon University is a full-day early care and education program serving the children of our faculty, staff, and students. We have grown from a program of 13 children to our current enrollment of 290 children across two centers. Our mission is to provide a nurturing, consistent, and developmentally appropriate environment that meets the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical needs of young children.
We are seeking an Early Childhood Aide to join our educational team. This position is designed for a candidate with a passion for early childhood education who demonstrates a commitment to Developmentally Appropriate Practice and upholds the NAEYC code of ethics. You will support classroom educators in creating a cohesive program that communicates the Center's philosophy, ensuring the safety and well-being of children throughout the day.
As an Aide, you will be an integral part of the daily flow, assisting with routines such as snack and lunch preparation, diapering, bathroom breaks, clean-up, playground supervision, and nap times. You will engage with children in a friendly, positive, and respectful manner, providing one-on-one time and supporting them during transitions. This role requires adaptability, excellence, and a high level of integrity as you interact with a varied population of internal and external partners.
The position requires availability for all five days of the week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
