The City of Clearwater Public Works Department is dedicated to the design, construction, protection, and maintenance of the City's critical infrastructure. The Engineering Specialist serves as a vital technical liaison between the Engineering Division and field operations. Based at the Public Works Operations Complex, this role focuses on the inspection, rehabilitation, and maintenance of the City's stormwater infrastructure. You will work closely with field crews and contractors to identify needed repairs, coordinate rehabilitation work, and ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with City standards and contract requirements.
In this capacity, you will manage multiple projects with significant budgets and strategic goals. Your day-to-day involves reviewing CCTV inspection results, preparing work orders, and overseeing contractor performance. You will also evaluate plans and specifications submitted by private consultants, advise contractors and architects on City codes, and represent the City in regional, state, and local meetings. The position requires frequent site visits to review permits, monitor construction compliance, and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted for project issuance.
