About the Role
This position is designed for an experienced Design Engineer specializing in Process and Piping, responsible for leading and managing projects within the steel industry. You will focus on iron ore processing, pellet plants, beneficiation plants, and downstream iron & steel making.
Your mission is to ensure the successful execution of leading engineering projects from conceptualization through commissioning. You will drive process optimization, refine piping design, and oversee construction management. This role requires deep technical expertise and strong project management capabilities, serving as a bridge between multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex industrial solutions.
The work environment is a dynamic mix of field and office duties. You can expect daily field work throughout the year, exposing you to the elements, alongside office responsibilities involving design and coordination. This blend ensures you remain connected to the physical reality of the project while managing the technical details from the office.

Requirements
- verified7 to 15 years of progressive experience in the steel industry

- verifiedProficiency with AutoCAD, PDMS, CAESAR II, Aspen Plus
- verifiedKnowledge of US codes (ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM)
- verifiedPMP or relevant management certification preferred

Nice to Have
Experience working with EPC contractors and vendors in the US steel industry. PMP or relevant management certification. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Familiarity with sustainability and environmental regulations in mining and steel production.
